Template:Alert dialog

Having a number of sub-pages of the template (Template:Alert dialog/noicon, Template:Alert dialog/nobutton and Template:Alert dialog/nobutton/noicon) isn't really the 'correct' way to do this. Instead, you should look in to adjusting the current template so that by setting a template variable hides the relevant elements. There is also the point that the alert dialog template is designed to have the icon and button – there are other templates (such as Template:Stickybox) that can be used for a slightly more subtle message. What was your reasoning for hiding the button/icon? When did you think it was likely to be used? → ~tl (talk · contribs) 08:45, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

wholesale changes to wiki structure should be discussed

Please explain the shortcomings of the naming system that was in place before this past weekend? You don't just up and change dozens of pages within a working system on a whim without prior discussion. The use of subpages (and subpage-like pseudo-categorical naming) is a radical departure from what we had in place, which was basically the same system used by Wikipedia. Please halt any further such activities until we can talk about this. ⇔ ChristTrekker 14:19, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

I echo the sentiment that any large scale changes should be discussed here (or on the forums) before being implemented. I've reverted the pages back to the previous name format. However, the Specs index pages were implemented in the sub-page format, so I've changed those over so at least we're being consistent with ourselves now! I'm guessing that some of the other "red link" pages on the main page were also in that format, leading to the confusion. Cheers for getting involved though! → ~tl (talk · contribs) 17:35, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
