color System 6

Oerrm... Wasn't System 6 the first system to support color? Remember the Mac IIs shipped with 5 or 6, and they made a big deal out of being color, so I would think their system supports color as well. (btw is this proper use of the 'discussion' tap?) --Pyroraptor

You may be correct. I know the system itself wasn't color until 7 though. Back in the 6 days I was stuck using monochrome machines, so my recollection is a little fuzzy. (And yes, perfect use of talk page.) ⇔ ChristTrekker 15:03, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Well, I remember the only part of the system that was color was the apple menu, and maybe the control panel where you chose the monitor settings. It had a painters pallet or something didn't it? → Pyroraptor

According to Apple's specs, the Mac II shipped with System 2.0, and according to MacTracker, it was System 3.0/Finder 5.1, so one of those was the first to support colour (and multiple displays), and system 6 certainly did. On colour macs, the Finder showed a Colors menu, that was like Labels on later systems. --Zydeco 21:17, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
